Luna EMG - Robotic Neurorehabilitation

Luna EMG is a rehabilitation robot addressing the needs of neurological and orthopaedic physiotherapy. Luna integrates kinesiotherapy for isolated joints and functional exercises for whole limbs. It integrates both dynamic resistance and reactive electromyography to address a large group of patients and provides automatic exercises to help clinics and physiotherapists.

The Luna rehabilitation robot uses a 6-channel bioelectric amplifier to allow patients with muscle atrophy to exercise even with no force present by using electromyography as a reactive signal. This enables patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and those recovering after a stroke to perform therapeutic tasks using interchangeable extensions and add-ons that help work the major joints. Luna can easily be used for patients from under 3 years of age with little or no cognitive impairment.
